Today marks the 20th anniversary of Bubbleinfo.com – the vision and creation of Jim the Realtor, whose focus has always been North San Diego County, especially the coastal market. For two decades, he has published real estate data, market trends, inventory updates, and candid commentary shaped by his “boots on the ground” perspective.
When I asked ChatGPT what Bubbleinfo was, the answer struck me:
“It’s a hyperlocal real estate commentary and marketing site, aimed at informing and connecting with people interested in buying or selling in the North San Diego coastal area.”
And in that moment, I thought – Jim, you did it. You accomplished exactly what you set out to do: educate people as they make one of life’s biggest financial decisions.
From the outside, it may look easy. Simple. But the reality? Over 12,000 blog posts, 3,000+ videos, and 67,794 blog comments – plus countless hours invested. Precious time dedicated to sharing knowledge with anyone willing to read, watch, and learn.
Here’s what you might not know:
Jim subscribes to every newspaper, forum, and publication to stay on top of the real estate market.
He nurtures relationships with realtors, appraisers, lenders, vendor partners, and service providers to keep his finger on the pulse of what’s happening in real time.
He has boldly taken stands on market issues and trends, even when unpopular – sometimes drawing criticism, other times winning admiration.
Every morning, from the moment he wakes until 9 a.m. – his self-imposed deadline for the first post of the day – he researches, studies, and decides what he will contribute to the North County real estate conversation. (Our household knows this morning-hour routine is sacred: no chit-chat, no interruptions, just focus.)
And once that post is live? He turns and asks, “What do you want for breakfast?” – then heads to the kitchen, because yes, he’s a great breakfast chef.
The blog has brought Jim recognition, success, and at times, criticism that cut deeply. Yet through it all, his commitment never wavered.
From where I sit, after 20 years, here’s my point of view.
It takes courage, discipline, persistence, and a deep commitment to serve others to do what Jim has done. Clients who’ve chosen him as their trusted guide have gained not only his expertise but also the benefit of his relentless pursuit of knowledge. His dedication to facts, data, and context has always been about one thing – helping people make the best choices for themselves, their loved ones, and their future.
Along the way, he has educated and inspired fellow realtors, colleagues, and countless others.
So today, we say: Thank you, Jim.
Thank you for caring. Thank you for serving. Thank you for raising the bar in a profession that touches the most meaningful place of all – home. There is nothing more special, more honorable, or more humbling.
